James H. Osborne

James grew up in New England through his college years, met his wife of 36 years, and moved to Seattle in 1981 where they have lived ever since. James is a graduate of Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Diane and James have two children, Kevin (28) and Alana (22). James’ professional career is in IT management having worked in multiple sectors including healthcare, real estate investment, Internet startup, retail and higher education.

James has always had an affinity for sports and exercise, starting with his days rowing division III crew in college, running, skiing, cycling, golfing and many others. Sports have been James’ sanctuary, his place of solace and refuge. All of that changed in 2007 and since that time James has been on a new journey to regain physicality, emotional steadiness, and identity all the while managing his day to day residual deficits. His interest in writing a book grew out of this journey motivated by a desire to reach out and touch the lives of others in a meaningful way.

“My passion comes from an unwavering desire to inspire, encourage and give hope to not just those facing the consequences of this “unimaginable” injury, but to reach out and touch those who may be infirmed or facing any life adversity. My story is deeply personal, real, authentic and in many places vulnerable.” — James H. Osborne
